Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC and Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited have progressed in their merger process following a High Court Division directive issued on April 9 in Company Matter No. 318/2026.
Walton Hi-Tech manufactures home and electrical appliances including refrigerators, air conditioners, televisions and washing machines, while Walton Digi-Tech produces laptops, computers, mobile phones, printed circuit boards and electric bikes. The companies expect the merger to expand product offerings, improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Walton Hi-Tech's board finalised next steps on April 11, setting May 4 as the record date for shareholder approval. An extraordinary general meeting will be held on May 21 via digital platform. The merger requires approval from shareholders, creditors, regulatory authorities and the High Court Division to complete. The process began on September 3, 2025, when both companies signed a memorandum of understanding. For the fiscal year ended June 30, 2025, Walton Digi-Tech reported net revenue of BDT 915.8 crore.
