Janata Bank PLC has launched a Visa dual currency debit card to expand its digital banking services. Nazma Mobarek, secretary of the Financial Institutions Division, inaugurated the card virtually as chief guest on 13 April 2026.
The card enables customers to conduct online transactions within Bangladesh and abroad with passport endorsement. Janata Bank positions the offering as part of its strategy to provide technology-based financial services to a broader customer base.
Cardholders can book flights and hotels, recharge mobile phones, and withdraw cash from Visa network ATMs worldwide. Md. Fazlur Rahman, chairman of Janata Bank, presided over the launch event, which included senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and the Financial Institutions Division.
