United Finance has disbursed its first startup loan under Bangladesh Bank's special startup refinancing scheme to AponTech, a fintech startup founded in 2017.
The scheme enables eligible startups to access financing at a 4 percent interest rate, supporting Bangladesh's entrepreneurial ecosystem. Mohammed Abul Ahsan, acting managing director of United Finance, committed the institution to partnering with Bangladesh Bank on special initiatives targeting micro, small, and medium enterprises across the country.
Nawshad Mustafa, director of the SME and special programmes department at Bangladesh Bank, attended the cheque handover ceremony as chief guest, emphasising startups' role in economic growth and job creation. Yasir Arafat, co-founder and COO of AponTech, received the funding and outlined the company's expansion plans for its services.
