ICAB Holds 22nd Convocation, Recognises Newly Qualified Chartered Accountants

ICAB celebrated its 22nd convocation in Dhaka, honouring newly qualified chartered accountants and emphasising professional standards.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) held its 22nd convocation at InterContinental Dhaka, recognising newly qualified chartered accountants who completed examinations between November–December 2022 and November–December 2025.

ICAB plays a central role in maintaining professional accounting standards and ensuring financial transparency in Bangladesh's corporate sector. The profession faces evolving demands as technological advancements reshape accounting practice and governance requirements.

Zahir Uddin Swapon, minister for information and broadcasting, attended as chief guest and stressed the importance of integrity and adaptation to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics. ICAB president NKA Mobin urged the new members to maintain professional standards, pursue continuous learning, and contribute to national development. Dr. Salimullah Khan, professor at North South University, delivered the convocation address, highlighting how chartered accountants contribute to broader economic and social systems beyond technical roles.
