DIU Signs 3.4MW Solar Power Agreement with Paramount Group

Daffodil International University partners with Paramount Group for a 3.4-megawatt solar power project under an OPEX model.

Daffodil International University (DIU) has signed a power purchase agreement with Paramount Group to develop a 3.4-megawatt solar power project at Daffodil Smart City.

The project operates under an OPEX model, enabling DIU to harness solar energy without capital investment. Surplus electricity generated will feed into the national grid through net metering, lowering overall electricity expenses for the institution.

The initiative will reduce approximately 3,500 to 4,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually. Shakhawat Hossain, chairman of Paramount Group, and Md Sabur Khan, chairman of DIU's Board of Trustees, signed the agreement alongside senior university officials including Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M R Kabir and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Mohammad Masum Iqbal.
