Daffodil International University's Department of Journalism, Media and Communication has concluded the Women Media Leaders of Tomorrow (WMLT) programme with a closing ceremony held on 29 March 2026. The initiative, which ran from October 2025 to January 2026, was conducted as part of the AGILE project led by Fojo Media Institute and Linnaeus University in Sweden, in collaboration with the Communication and Journalism Educators Network and co-funded by the European Union.
The closing event brought together students, faculty members, and distinguished guests including Professor Dr. Liza Sharmina, Professor Dr. Gregory Simons, and Syed Raihan. Dr. Aftab Hossain, head of the Department of Journalism, Media and Communication, emphasized the importance of continuous professional growth, stating that opportunities are available to those who remain connected and committed to development.
Programme participants shared insights from their experience. Participants highlighted the value of mentorship as a lifelong commitment extending beyond formal education, while others stressed the importance of incremental career building and personal resilience. A recorded message from Sofie Gullberg of Fojo Media Institute was presented during the ceremony, underscoring international collaboration in developing women leadership capacity in Bangladesh's media sector.
