Based on an official announcement by TBS News.

The Asian University for Women (AUW) will organise the first International Conference on Environment and Climate Action (ICECA) in Chattogram on 1-2 August at Hotel Agrabad.

AUW's Environmental Sciences programme and the Green Bangle Movement jointly organise this student-led initiative to foster global dialogue on environmental and climate challenges. The conference carries the theme "Ami: I for a Greener World" to inspire individual responsibility and collective commitment toward environmental protection.

ICECA 2025 will convene over 200 participants, including students, researchers, and environmental professionals from South Asia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The two-day event covers five thematic areas—Roots & Revolutions, Wild & Well, Voices for Earth, Planet in Balance, and Green Futures—exploring traditional ecological knowledge, biodiversity, climate justice, community leadership, environmental policy, sustainability, and green technology innovation. Sonia Sultana, director of the Department of Environment (DoE), Chattogram Metropolitan, will serve as chief guest at the opening ceremony.
