Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman called for stronger inter-agency coordination, professionalism and neutrality to ensure a peaceful, fair and credible national election scheduled for 12 February.
The army chief visited Patuakhali and Khulna to review law and order conditions ahead of the 13th national parliamentary election and inspect army personnel deployed under "in aid to the civil power." During both visits, he held meetings with civil administration officials, divisional and district administrators, and law enforcement officers to discuss security arrangements and institutional coordination.
General Waker-Uz-Zaman urged personnel to execute their duties with professionalism, discipline, patience and citizen-friendly conduct. The General Officer Commanding of the Army Training and Doctrine Command, commanders of the 55 and 7 Infantry Divisions, and area commanders from Jashore and Barishal accompanied the visits, which included direct observation of troop activities and operational guidance sessions.
